Coupons & Gift Cards Galore!

Look my lovelys! I've posted again! This time the haul I got from the mall a couple weeks back, all in all I spent $25 for everything. I do <3 coupons and gift certificates. I mean just today I found lace up red and white plaid welly's that were fleece lined for 50% off. Just in time for snow!

So Sephora had a coupon a couple weeks back where if you spent $40 or more you'd get $20 off. Well...it so happened I had a $15 gift card as well for Sephora.

I love First Aid Beauty face wash and had heard excellent things about the eye roller (the moisturizer is just too heavy feeling for me...). I've used it once so far and have it with me while I'm celebrating the holidays with my family so I should be able to give a better review of it when I'm out of the whirlwind of the holidays.

My free sample was the Ojon Hair Sleek and Polished spray. I had gotten my haircut THAT DAY so I was looking for a way to maintain it. I....have NOT maintained it like I should but I'm kinda lacking on the hair skill and not entirely sure I want to add that to my 'let's learn' pile at this very moment. It's kinda teetering at the moment anyways.

I'm not usually overly impressed with all things Philosophy. I got a gift set earlier this season that was Peppermint lip gloss that was this gorgeous deep bright sparkley red...it came out clear with no real sparkle...I haven't tried the bath stuff yet. I got last years Snow collection for the holidays & that didn't impress me much either. Their lotions always feel waaaay too heavy. If I'm going to go for the beat the moisture into my skin route I'll go with Burt's Bee's. smells great and has helped clear up my really bad dry patches. BUT, yep, there's a but (not even MY butt....sorry...couldn't resist), I got Unconditional Love as it smelled quite nice and was only $8. It smells nicely. according to Sephora the smell tones are fruit and vanilla. I think it smells a BIT more floral than fruit. I love that it's a sweet but not too sweet smell that isn't overpowering. A lot of people have complained it doesn't seem to have staying power. I myself have not had that problem (I put it on at 9 and reapplied before going out around 7, I could still smell it, just wanted to brighten it up again)

I'm actually wearing 2 of these colors right now! I have Just A Fairy-Tale on my toes. I thought it would be a pale silverly blue. It's more an iridescent light, light, light purple that sheens goldish/green. I adore the color, though I think it'll stay a toe color until summer (I prefer wearing darker colors in the winter and lighter or bright colors in the summer on my fingernails). The other color I'm wearing is Leaf Him At The Altar. It's quite true to the color. It sheens with gold as well. I'll most likely try Handpicked For Me around New Year's (perhaps one of my other OPI's I haven't tried yet...depends on what we do). I'll update you!

This is Bare Escentuals holiday kit for this year (it had a cardboard around it that made it look more present like). I just really liked the way it was packaged and have actually kept the box to use in the future.

I haven't actually used or swatched the colors in the kit yet (I've been busy?) but I do have some of them with me and I'll make a point of using the rest soon. Promise!

Oh, it was also Friends and Family Weekend so I got 20% off. Woo hoo!

I actually bought some things from MAC for 2 reasons. 1) I had a gift card and 2) I was actually acknowledged. I usually try and go in there (I've watched a MAC lipstick for AGES) but I get annoyed when I can't get anyone's attention! So...even though they didn't have the 1 lipstick I came in for (as well as to look around for a bit more) Cut A Caper - EVERYWHERE seems to be sold out of that. :(

I did end up getting 2 pencils there, Soar to go with my London Life lipstick and Cherry to go with my Cockney lipstick.

I REALLY love London Life, such a gorgeous plum color on me, especially layered over Soar. Cockney I wore the day I got it, though I haven't worn it since (red's scare me to bit!) though I would love to. It's a bluer red than the 1 other red I own, which is a Sephora lipstick (I don't care for Sephora lipsticks, they such the moisture out of my lips...I need to find replacement colors for the ones I have...perhaps I'll post a HELP! post on that soon, pick everyone's brains.). Superior I LOVE, it's faintly tinted but sparkles away, so gorgeous!

Top is Superior, it was hiding from the camera, it DOES have a slight pale pink tone but it sparkles like you wouldn't believe, so awesome! It's my total grab for everyday. The middle is London Life which I am also in love with and have worn several times excitedly. The bottom is Cockney which beyond wearing the first day I haven't worn. I need to fix this...

I got some MAC Prep + Prime for lip and Glamora Castle from this holiday's set. I really am loving the color. It's a rich pay off and can be a nice silver gray to a fantastic dark gray with a slight silver tone to it. Makes for SUCH an easy smokey eye.

Swatch of Glamora Castle on the left. Then the top line is Cherry lip liner and the bottom is Soar lip liner.

EOTD December 15, 2010

I wore this look to go shopping with my mum and aunt down at Old Town. I wanted something a bit holiday looking, it really was more red in person, promise!

I sadly had forgotten my brushes over at my fiance's place so I used what I had left (which was a kabuki brush & my fingers...). Yes...I know I have really out of place make up on my one eye. I realized it after seeing the pictures and fixed...but didn't reshoot as I was then running late. Whoops!

Also, excuse the unbrushed hair & pj's, I did my makeup first so if I dropped my lipstick (I did that once to my favorite shirt, GRRRRR) or other messy/disastrous substance it wouldn't be as big a deal.

The Painted Mask Is Having A Giveaway

I have loved following The Painted Mask blog, it has great EOTD, reviews that list the pros and cons, plus tutorials for those of us still learning and growing. So, I have to say I am super excited that she's doing 4 giveaways. The first giveaway is up! It's red themed and oh so pretty. I am nervous about reds (though I bravely bought myself some red lipstick recently - more on that later) so it would be lovely to get someone else's 'top choices' on red products. So shoo my minions! Go fly to her blog and look around. Perhaps even subscribe like I did. Oh...and expect 3 more posts, I need me some entries!

Make Your Own Palette Tutorial

I really wanted to help get all my assorted single eyeshadows (and some of the more ridiculously packaged sets) all in one place and not stacked all on top of each other. I LOVED the Z Palette I mean, they're fantastic and awesome! But....I refuse to pay 16-20 bucks for some cardboard and magnets. So...I made my own!

These are the supplies needed:
A plastic container (I found it at Joann's on sale for $2), some glue that works well on plastic ($3), and sheets of magnets (mine was $6 for 6 sheets & I used 2 sheets in total). I got computer paper that has magnets on it, I SHOULD have gotten craft magnet sheets. That is my suggestion to you. Mine work perfectly fine, they just don't stick as nicely as I'd hoped.

Step 1:
Discover how the magnets stick to one another. Would HATE for you to glue everything together and discover (much to your dismay) that you glued them the wrong way.
Step 2:
Fit the sheets inside your chosen container. Mine took 1 entire sheet and part of another. Keep all scraps of magnets for later use.

Step 3:

Glue the magnets down! Spread the glue over the entire surface (don't leave it swirled like mine) to get an even secure seal.

Step 4:
Press the magnets in firmly and make sure you don't have any corners attempting to pull back up. Let dry completely before putting anything on it.

Step 5:

Take your depotted eyeshadows (I'll do a tutorial on how to do the plastic ones. The cardboard ones you basically just carefully peel the casing off AROUND the eyeshadow...I thought to document the process AFTER I'd torn everything apart, whoops....) and smear a pretty good dose of glue on the back. You're going to be lifting it up off the magnets that are sticking together. So make sure you glue accordingly.

Step 6:
Put all the eyeshadows onto the proper side of the magnet leaving space to get your scissors in there to cut them apart. The alternative method is to cut the magnet sheets to the size you need BEFORE gluing them onto the eyeshadow. Use either method that's easiest for you.

 Step 7:
I cut out my first one (it's a Lorac shimmer powder from their Christmas kit from...errrr...2 years ago? if you were wondering...) to make sure the magnets were facing the right way and everything was sticking properly.

These are all the eyeshadows I had depotted in prep for putting in the case. You'll notice I have writing on some of my magnets. I like to know what I have (so I can rebuy if I like and can state what I used in a look) so I wrote down what was what. I suggest if you want to do that as well, if taking apart palettes you take a picture of the thing still whole and write down everything as well. It will make your life easier.

Hopefully my tutorial will at least give you a starting point to make your own. Mine has plenty of room to also store other things in there while traveling and securely latches (which was a concern with the cardboard ones...I'm a klutz, with my luck I'd trip and everything would go flying...)

I have an EOTD to post a bit later (you'll have to excuse the less than perfect application, I left my brushes at my fiance's house by accident and was using scrounged objects...)

The Long Awaited Black Friday Swag Post! (Photo Heavy)

From Joann's:

It's an adorable reuseable bag (LOOK at the birdies and other sketches, how could I NOT get it I ask you!) Then a pretty good sized book of scrapbook paper. The paper inside is actually incredibly glittery. I'm thinking of using the paper to make pendants for jewelry for my Etsy store. ...Which is once again empty from my lack of attention...

The tin is actually from Dollar Tree and the delicious cookbook (I know it's delicious since I've cooked from it already) is from Borders, the 1 purchase from there in fact. The plastic bags in the lower right are candy bags that were too cute to pass up.
Beads, beads, beads! ...yeah, that's all I got...

The cute lunchbox is from Dollar Tree as well (Why YES I DID have fun there...) and that light was an incredible steal. $19 for a $90 lamp. I'm planning on using it for make up and the pictures that go along with that. But...I haven't figured out how to incorporate it in since I'm applying my make up in a hand held mirror while sitting on the floor.

The art didn't come included...I just got so excited at having frames for some of the art I've collected I had to frame immediately! Top was art from Fanime '09, left is Amy Brown, and right is Steve Argyle.

It's a BIG Steve Argyle (also, in case you weren't paying attention, all my Argyle stuff is signed! SQUEE!!!)

All art from Fanime '09. The right and left ones are from the same artist. I'll update with better artist info when it isn't so early in the morning.

From Dollar Tree:
(not counting the stuff already mentioned....)

From Aromaleigh:

I had always heard good things about the company and was sad to hear about it being shut down. I'd gotten a few samples from there...but to be honest I never used them because of the samples coming in little bags instead of a container that was easier to use. I understand her reasoning, it's saving the environment (which is it...). But then she came out with a collection based on Harry Potter and mythology. I was sold...

Spells!

Mythos!

The 3 extra FULL SIZE eyeshadows that were included. w00t!

Sorry....It's Been Awhile

Well eep! I've certainly been remiss on posting on here. I had planned on posting 3 times a week. We all see how THAT went! So...I make a new pledge! I will post here on SOMETHING at least once a week. I'm thinking (embarrassingly enough) of posting LOTD and such things on here. I follow A LOT of beauty blogs now and they're kind of inspiring. But I'm not sure I really want to devote a blog to that exclusively. I'm not very good yet at makeup, I'm certainly getting better with practice. I'm also beginning to feel much better about myself as well.

So...I suppose I should give people updates on what's gone on since April!

Well, let's see.....in September my fiance and I went to the Bay Area to visit the last East West bookstore (it's been declared we must go back before Yule) which I have fallen in love with. I'm eyeballing getting a proper tea set and tea that doesn't come in bags. Also got the most delicious cupcakes, which is odd since I don't like cake like desserts. The most exciting though was going to Chicks Kick It and meeting all the authors....plus winning a tote bag full of books.

October brought my birthday (was lovely and laid back) and my amazing Grammie's 93rd birthday which I got to come up and celebrate with her for!

Beyond that not too much has been going on.

Oh! I know! I joined 24hr fitness which is exciting for me...of course soon after I finished having a personal trainer I got incredibly sick, then the stuff that had slid while sick had to be caught up on, and then family visiting put a further crimp. I should be back on schedule this next week though.

I'm also in the midst of doing a massive clean out, already donated 5 trash bags of things. I've finished with all the large things. Now I just have the smaller things, like alphaing my books and putting discs into their proper cases.

I Am Plus Size Sexy, Hear Me Roar....On TV?

So, I love my brother Dan, I really do. You know why? He posted this article in disbelief as well. Now, I admit, I have not tracked down ABC & Fox's side of the story (if it's even up yet since the article and blog post on Lane Bryant's website was posted yesterday) . But I have to say from reading both the article and the blog which said almost the same things, that it's ridiculous. The ad's voiceover isn't exactly risque:

"Mom always said beauty is skin deep. A smile the best makeup and it's whats underneath that counts. Somehow I don't think this is what mom had in mind." "So sexy, so not what your mom would wear"

The Victoria Secret ads are worse and they have commercials running all day long, especially during Prime Time. Then there's Prime Time television. I was watching Castle last night and it had Castle and an actress in bed, her wearing a negligee and nothing else, him topless. Another scene you could see her in just a bra. Yet, they're a-okay.

I'm squishy, and I make myself feel bad for it, society makes me feel bad for, but that commercial has nothing apologetic about it. But it has nothing over the top. She's clothed the entire time unlike some Victoria Secret ads I've seen. The woman in it was definitely attractive, and advertised the merchandise (I liked that blue teddy for instance). The fact that ABC and Fox refused to play it without severe edits and rejections three times, only allowing it when Lane Bryant threatened to cancel their purchase of ad time is horrid. The reason it was rejected so many times? Cleavage!!! Yep! Cleavage. The thing it seems most people stare at. The thing which women willingly go under the knife to increase. The sex symbol of America (perhaps the world? No...some countries prefer asses...) is too large for an American company. Huh...strange, they have Pam Anderson on Dancing With The Stars, who used to be Home of OMFG why aren't they eating your face? boobs. No problem with her. Plus the end of one episode I saw you could practically see the women's underparts, there was no way they could wear underwear in them either, the dresses were too tight and cut too high. No complaints were made of that. Gotta love the double standardization it's being obvious about, since the cleavage excuse was quite thin. Perhaps the fact that Lane Bryant had a good commercial that was rivaling Victoria Secret and Fredricks (except somehow classier, perhaps that was it, the classiness overwhelmed them and had to reject it, but were embarrassed...) made them gasp in shock and someone had a heartattack over it.

Or, perhaps, they were just perpetuating the double standard that is rampantly rampaging this country. So, I stand and plant my little flag in my little kingdom,

I am plus size! Hear me roar! ....and gimmie that blue teddy while you're at it....

On a separate note, I'll post an update on my life's wanderings in a bit, I used up my lunch hour to post this...

Party of Train Wreck

I'm not sure why I made a blog, perhaps I missed talking to myself with the hopes someone else reads it and validates me! But I know I need validation from no one else, now if only that sunk into the brain, right? I have no rants of significance, just my very ordinary moderately privileged life.

The past couple days I've been a bit of an emotional trainwreck, suppose that's the most...pg phrase that comes to mind. Events/things/explosions that I feel I should be over, I'm still limping along like a victim of war. Never been hurting this long after events...there were more tendrils of challenge than usual, but one would still think after half a year it wouldn't damn well hurt. But...it does daily and then days like these past few, it's hurt more then the mild twinge. I feel that too much time has passed to get resolution, why open up others wounds, granted I'm not sure there are wounds, possibly just anger. I know, I'm still plenty angry, hurt, confused, but...I still have moments where I miss it. NOT the complications, NOT the way it worked, just...I dunno....

Then add in, complications that never got resolved and I proceeded to stuff under the rug to focus on other things have just made other things worse. Talking that out was interesting, went better than expected. We'll see how it goes though. Not just me that gets to work with it, but I'm hoping it'll help in other areas of life.

Oh! Plus! My pop had knee surgery as most people know by now, mom went up to visit her sister-in-law and see Avenue Q (I am jealous) leaving me to man the babysitting duties. He's antsy and pushing things he shouldn't be doing. Plus being on call all day is an added stress. Which, is why I've most likely become a trainwreck. We missed dance this week because I messed up the timing of dinner and I needed to feed pop. We still got out of the house, but...we never did dance. And though I suck at it, it's...a retreat, it's something that takes me out of where I am. Because I am not happy or content where I am. Final moving destination may have changed as well. I need to look at California cities now...relationships are compromise I know...and I have strange requirements, lol. Must have good public transportation (I hate driving), weather must be on the cooler side, I have to like the atmosphere, there must be something to do every week! *sigh*

This is not a pity party for one, or an out cry for love & affection (though I will not turn it down). I kept things vague as things are not solely mine to tell. If I love you & you don't know what the bleep is going on message me.

Weekend made of AWESOME, day made of half fail

So for once, I had a busy fun filled weekend, these things are rare...It's like finding something to do at 4 in the morning in Sacramento. It occurs....but rarely without cost. lol. But this weekend was made of win.

Thursday (I know, not technically a weekend, but hush!) was Cal's birthday dinner at my place. I made chicken kiev the easy way. Was oh so good. Had flourless chocolate cake & cream puffs for dessert. With said dessert we watched The Ugly Truth, which I thoroughly enjoyed, regardless of the awkwardness of watching it with the parents. That is definitely not a see with the folks type movie (at least my folks) granted they did seem to enjoy it & my mother has been surprising me on tastes lately, some of which I could have done without. Cal got prezzies, which is always an awesome thing & I got snuggles!!!! What? >.> I like them....

Friday was the much anticipated Swing Dance lessons at Midtown Stomp. Cal & I are in a different class than the drop in class, which I hadn't realized when I paid for the month. We're doing Lindy Hop, speaking of which I need to practice tonight, Step, Step, Triple Step....Must remember that...Anyways. Our teachers are hilarious, nice, & awesome. No, seriously. Especially Kelly (yes...she has the same name as me, this does not impact my view of awesomeness >.>) she started class out by saying she cursed a lot & later complained she was pale but was more afraid of McCloud's ass. They were knowledgeable which was nice as well. Even the bathrooms were swanky! The women's had a little table with a tablecloth! and chairs in addition to a mirror. That was in a separate room from the actual stalls, which was nice. We only stayed for the class because Chris & John decided the ratio of women to men wasn't up to par. They promise next week to participate, which I certainly hope is true, because I want to actually go upstairs & dance outside of class. Besides my love of swing, I did want to do it for the workout. The first class wasn't major, but I did acquire a fine sheen & clumsy feet (I start with the RIGHT, I will get this.....). But towards the end, when I unwound a bit, it was tons of fun. Perhaps this week I'll even trade partners, but I am a bit nervous to. I can feel like an idiot with Cal, but it's harder with others, which I know, means I should do it just to push my bounds regardless but it's hard, okay? Sheesh.....Afterwords we went to Great Escapes to buy....nothing! Well that's not true, Chris bought a starter deck for L5R from the new set. We headed to Chris' after that to unwind, though Cal & I were still Step, Step, Triple Stepping it occasionally. It is actually amazingly fun, like...grown up skipping. When Cal & I finally dragged our tired butts back to my place it was closing in on midnight, we watched 2 episodes of Castle (I am now caught up! Ha ha!) & then tumbled sleepily into bed.

Saturday we went to see Rent, with the original Mark & Roger (same as the ones in the movie). That was awesome! The theater wasn't even half full I don't think. Was very surprising. I enjoyed it quite a bit. But, I doubt I would go see it again. I don't tend to like depressing things much. I enjoy them...and then don't watch them again. To me life is depressing enough, tyvm. Got Chinese food for dinner (om nom nom.....deliciousness incarnate is Full Moon Palace) after dinner (& dishes) we went to Cal's place since the poor guy works on Sundays, even worse since it was Super Bowl Sunday!

Sunday, I luxuriously spent in bed. I played WoW & slept. Was GLORIOUS, I really do like the new WoW dungeon finder, though that day was the first day I found elitist rude people who booted me for being an incapable player. Grumble.... After quick showers we headed for the after party at Chris's Mmmmm, bar-b-que & Harry Potter Clue, what more could a girl ask for? No...seriously...what better thing is there then HP Clue? It's AWESOME! But...for some reason, topics that were bandied around got my brain in a strange place & I left in a not so great mood, that sorta lasted into today.

So...Monday.....when everyone else has the day off Cal had school & work. We hit school, & I got a message from house complaining about me not being home. I couldn't do anything about it at the time, so I called, informed, & got yelled at more. Ignored best I could. On the way out, got another message, didn't respond this time & decided to hit Metropolis Comix. I love that he remembers what you buy & your taste. I just went, Hi...gonna bug you, Planetary & Grimm haven't come out yet, I need new comics. I came home with 3 new ones to try. Woo hoo! Perhaps it was 4..either way. Did some errands & headed home to endless chores till I got to sit down closer to 7. After that I discovered 4 things. 1) Fyrinnae order came in. Woo hoo!!!!!!!! 2) My Advanced Photoshop came in 3) I was informed by the lovely, awesome, amazing Samantha that "Gorgeous doesn't even begin to describe" me regarding my model & not so model photos, I convinced her to come play with me this summer! Wheee!!! 4) Same Samantha poured adoration over the care package I sent her (chocolate & handmade wrist warmers do have that effect on people) So...middle part of the day sucked horribly & I was frustrated & miserable, but it got better.

Birthdays & Squishing of Dreams

I so very, very angry & hurt. I was just told to give up my dreams, that they just weren't working out right now. That if you find something you're good at & enjoy you should be able to breeze through it easily. School just isn't for me, etc. It was the one thing I could count on, them believing I could do it. Because damn if a lot of places didn't seem to want me. She suggested sales, that not everywhere is the same, that not everywhere there's a push to sell something. I don't know of a single place like that. I'm, very, very, very, very hurt by all this. Of course it's Cal's birthday, when I'm supposed to be happy & planning (granted last minute) his birthday outing if his parents do nothing. Instead all I can think about doing is driving, anywhere, just....away from here.

Sleep Dep & Derogatory Terms

I had problems sleeping...again...I get sorta manic, where I have ENERGY TO BURN. Which is usually awesome I can get stuff done while people are sleeping & all that, but my pop had knee surgery so my mom needs to sleep nearby but can't be in the bed with him (he sorta sleeps diagonal now). So...my room is her room for the next several weeks, & I have the family room. Which does *not* have my jewelry supplies, my printer, my books, or the capability for me to clean my room through it. So...I'm sorta stuck watching bad infomercials, how to vids (been makeup lately since I'm trying to practice it a bit more), veoh, books. Not so productive. Can't bake or cook either because the doors are left open. The good thing is (I suppose at least) I finished watching Princess Tutu. I know, completely girlie sounding. Started out moderately girlie, but actually got less & less as it went on. I really did enjoy it, it was recommended to me & then a fan vid was shown to me & I HAD to watch. Yeah...it has ballet, yeah, it has overly cute drawings. But definitely a more complex piece than I was expecting. Always an excellent thing.

Downside, I finally got to bed around 5 something, & was woken up around 9 by my pop. Mom's vertigo is acting up so I'm in charge of taking care of both of them. Not too hard, only problem was when pop called repeatedly right in the middle of a yoga pose after I'd already asked to be left alone for that hour. Blargle... It's appearing I'll also be making dinner, which will most likely be spinach pasta with garlic crusted chicken. Yum.

This was my 4th day on the Wii Fit, my legs & arms kind of ache continually at this point, not a bad thing. But the Wii is seriously on something. It decided I gained 15 pounds overnight. While I do not pride myself on eating well (I am getting better) my intake of food was not enough to raise it that high.

When I got back from that though a lively conversation on derogatory terms came about, & do the words lose meaning with more use in a non derogatory way, as in it gaining a new meaning? Or does it just wear away the meaning until it gets worn smooth to just being acceptable regardless of the fact that it's a derogatory term. We were discussing more social and not racial terms. Ie. gay, meaning homosexual, happy, stupid or fag where here it's offensive (pointed out it isn't used here as anything *but* derogatory, so would that mean with use it would lose it's meaning?) & in Britain it's a slang for a cigarette. I must say it's fun to have these random brain quandry conversations. Doubt our opinions will change all that much, but is still something to go Hmmmm, interesting, must ponder. I do believe it will soon be migrating into swear words & their double meanings/origins. Hee, hee! Like I said, fun for the not so whole family!

I really should make the belt decoration for Horo today, was going to yesterday, but never got around to doing so. I only have a little more then 4 months. Would like to be done in 2 months so there's less pressure last minute. But, I'm a classic procrastinator. So...we'll see. Sure hope I get off my ass & do them though. Would be 1 piece on it's way to being done.

Wii Fit Plus Oddness

So, I got for Christmas the Wii Fit Plus, I have the original too, but when my wii got sick & then retarded, my stuff got packed away. Since my mum knew pop was having knee surgery she got him a new wii to play while he recovered with some games (which he has been playing the Mario one occasionally). But I got the Wii Fit with hopes I'd be able to borrow pop's system. Well...I did today. I got it all set up around 3:32, & at 5:43 I called it quits. I did not know I had been working at it so long! It weirds me out! I'm kinda proud of myself regardless. I did sweat, not the EEEWWWW kind, but still proof I worked hard!

Let's see if I remember what I did....

Side twist
Skateboarding
Snowboarding x2
Hulu hoop
Number game
Cobra
Plank
Running
Biking x2
Obstacle course
Penguin game
Thingy where you pick your knee up with "punching" with your other one
Boxing (that one was fun, that's going on the everytime list)
Kung Fu
Marching band thingy
Meditation

There might have been more, but I think that was all of it. Granted they were short (roughly 30 seconds - 5 minutes) but still! I earned 46 credits on the thing before quitting.

Now I'm off to watch How To Videos on makeup on YouTube by MichellePhan as a reward.

Ta Da!

I haven't had a blog in years, & when I did have one I didn't post in it much. Not sure how often I'll post here, but I plan to post at least once a week. Perhaps it'll be adventures of the week, it might be a random writing exercise, or a recipe. Really, it'll be chaotic as to what I post.

Thing might be a bit tame for the moment, except for the random rantings about being stuck. My pop just had knee surgery & while it isn't a pain in the butt, it's a bit annoying just in that he can't move by himself & needs someone hanging about 24/7. I'm not so fond of being around 24/7.

On, the YEAH side though, I bought my pass for Fanime & reserved my hotel room. Woo hoo! I'm uber excited. I'm going to CosPlay for the first time in my life (I blame Jenna, the insidious her) as Horo from Spice & Wolf. I got all the fabric & notions I need to make her outfit, but I couldn't find fur, so Jenna is looking for some. That & making me my ears. Now I just need to watch the shoes I need to buy & order my wig! It's coming together! YEAH!!! I'll keep everyone updated with my giddiness on how it progresses.

This Sunday is Cal's birthday, as per tradition my parents are hosting a dinner for him, it'll most likely be the Saturday after his birthday, which should be kinda fun. I have no idea what to get him, but I'll think of something, I almost always do! Now if I could get him to settle long enough with mum around to measure his head so I can start working on making his hat (again....it was the wrong size, but it fit my baby cousin, so I suppose that's good).

In lines with Cal's birthday, the day after it is the date when his & my swing shoes show up. His look like these cool sneakers and mine are adorable saddle shoe flats. Then I'll have to wear them around the house to break them in before that Friday, as our first swing dance lesson is then. I'm so excited! It's a workout & it's a blast! I used to swing ages & ages ago (Like almost 10 years ago, ages ago) & I really enjoyed it. The classes were affordable & included entrance to the club it's held at, so bonus! It also appears that we may have a large group coming with us. Which I have mixed feelings on. I had originally thought of it as being just our date night & something fun for us to do together, but at the same time, it's a lot of fun going with a group & having the ability to switch partners without the Eek! I don't know you! going on. Plus it'll be more people to kick your butt to go (though I doubt I'll need kicking, I want to start already!).

Beyond that, I'm reading Will of the Empress by Tamora Pierce, which is part of the Circle of Magic, Circle Unbound, etc. Beyond that I'm trying to slowly work on my Project Zero, which I should post on here as well. Perhaps that will be my next post.
